On March 27, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Philadelphia successfully removed Jeovann Anthony Forde, a Jamaican national, to his home country after a final order of removal.
Forde, who was wanted by Jamaican authorities for murder, had been residing in the U.S. illegally since his arrest by U.S. Border Patrol in 2022.
Forde, a foreign fugitive, had an arrest warrant issued for him in Jamaica on February 22, 2022, for his involvement in a murder case. He was apprehended near San Ysidro, California, on July 18, 2022, for entering the United States without proper documentation. Following his arrest, Forde was transferred to ICE San Diego, where he was initially enrolled in the Alternatives to Detention (ATD) program but was removed from the program in June 2023 after failing to comply.
In July 2023, an immigration judge in Philadelphia ordered Forde’s removal from the U.S. to Jamaica in absentia. Forde’s criminal history in the U.S. includes a conviction for retail theft in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, in December 2024. On the same day as his conviction, ICE Philadelphia apprehended Forde during a targeted enforcement action and subsequently transferred him to the Moshannon Valley Processing Center in Pennsylvania.
Brian McShane, Acting Field Office Director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations, emphasized that Forde’s removal was a significant step in ensuring public safety, stating, “This operation highlights the expertise and persistence of our officers in locating and apprehending individuals wanted for serious crimes, ensuring accountability and preventing further harm.”
