Attorney Andell K. Brown, a Jamaican-born, U.S.-raised criminal defense lawyer with a national media presence and a deep commitment to community empowerment, has been named one of Legacy Magazine’s Most Powerful and Influential Black Business Leaders of 2025.
Brown, the Founding Senior Partner of Andell Brown & Associates Law Offices, PLLC, based in Aventura, Florida, is widely respected for his fearless advocacy in state and federal courtrooms. With a career spanning two decades, he has earned a reputation for tackling complex legal battles with strategic precision and a steadfast commitment to justice.

Born in Jamaica and raised in the United States, Brown’s life and work are a testament to the power of cultural pride, perseverance, and purpose. A proud graduate of Oakwood University, an HBCU, and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, he has long used his legal platform to support youth mentorship, civic education, and systemic change.
In addition to his work as a trial attorney, Brown is a nationally recognized legal analyst, regularly providing commentary on high-profile legal cases for CNN, MSNBC, ABC News, Court TV, Law & Crime Network, TV One, and other outlets. His expert insights on justice, policing, and civil rights have helped shape public understanding of legal issues impacting communities of color.
Brown’s impact also extends to cultural and educational initiatives. In 2018, he founded Soirée Noir® Huntsville, an annual gathering held during Oakwood University’s Alumni Homecoming Weekend that celebrates Black excellence through connection, empowerment, and culture. Dubbed “The Gathering Place for Black Excellence,” the event brings together professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders from across the country.
During that same weekend, Brown also sponsors Oakwood’s Political Science/Pre-Law Mock Trial Competition, encouraging the next generation of legal minds through mentorship and opportunity.
He is also the founder of The Brown Justice Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to promoting legal literacy and systemic change. Each holiday season, he hosts the Annual Holiday Soirée Toy Drive, benefiting Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and bringing together legal professionals and business leaders to give back to families in need.
