Sunrise Civic Center Theatre: Experience the arts in Sunrise, Florida

Enjoy these upcoming events at the Sunrise Civic Center Theatre:

“A Chorus Line”
Saturday, December 1, at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, December 2, at 2:00 p.m.
A Chorus Line examines one day in the lives of 17 dancers, all vying for a spot in a Broadway show. As they tell their life stories – some tragic, some comic – the audience begins to see them as individuals. The high-school-age performers of the Inside Out Theatre are excited to present this funny, heartbreaking, and refreshingly honest musical. Mature themes. Reserved seating: $18 adult.

“The Nutcracker” Ballet
Saturday, December 8, at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Due to popular demand, we’re hosting two performances of this holiday favorite. Enjoy spectacular dancing, beautiful costumes, and classical music as The Russian Ballet of Orlando brings the story of Clara and her Nutcracker Prince to the Sunrise stage. Recommended for all ages. Reserved seating: $18 adult, $10 child.

Word Up! Poetry Slam
Wednesday, December 19, at 7:00 p.m.
Sunrise Civic Center Theatre, 10610 West Oakland Park Boulevard
Hear some of the best spoken-word artists from high schools across Broward County. Word Up! – celebrating its 10th year – is presented in collaboration with the Jason Taylor Foundation, the Omari Hardwick bluapple Poetry Network, and the Art Prevails Project. Reserved seating: $5 per person.

The Sunrise Civic Center Theatre is located at 10610 West Oakland Park Boulevard. The Box Office is open Tuesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Wednesday and Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; and one hour before shows.
