Remains could be missing Haitian journalist

Haitian police believe the partial remains of a mangled body and a hat found late last week in Port-au-Prince after a police investigation was launched in Grand Ravine, is that of missing freelance photojournalist Vladjimir Legagneur.Legagneur, 30, who disappeared on March 14th after telling his wife he had plans to meet an individual connected to a freelance gig.

But police spokesman Frantz Lerebours said they now have to wait on DNA tests to confirm if the body found is Legagneur’s.

Prior to entering the Grand Ravine, Legagneur had reportedly stopped at a police station bordering the neighborhood. Police

and even UN Peace Keepers have been known to shy from entering the gang territory due to its tumultuous history and double homicide of police officers in November.
