Missing 4-year-old girl found dead in southwest Florida canal

Reports are that the body of a 4-year-old girl who went missing in southwest Florida was found in a canal on Friday.

Her body was found by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials searching by boat.

Evelyn K. Geer went missing for several hours after leaving the vacation home her family was staying at near Port Charlotte, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office confirmed hours later that Geer’s body was discovered along the water’s edge of a canal.

The cause of her death has not been revealed by police.
