The company’s performance comes as it prepares for a rebound in travel demand following the conclusion of the U.S. General Elections, often a deterrent to travel.

“Looking ahead, we anticipate a rebound in travel demand as headwinds from the recent US election cycle and associated travel advisories subside,” the company noted in its quarterly financial report. It reaffirmed its commitment to long-term value creation through prudent management and innovation.

For the quarter ending November 30, Knutsford Express recorded a 5.7% increase in revenue, rising to $500 million compared to $473 million in the same period last year. Over six months, revenue climbed 8.8% to $1 billion, up from $965 million year-over-year. The growth was attributed to increased passenger volumes across all routes and continued investment in the company’s coach fleet to meet rising demand.

The company’s courier service also remained a robust contributor, providing seven-day package delivery. Knutsford Express is actively expanding courier locations and refining service processes to enhance customer experience.

Profit decline and challenges

Despite revenue gains, net profit for the quarter fell by 26% to $53 million, down from $71.7 million a year earlier. The decline was attributed to reduced tourist passenger ridership and higher operating expenses tied to depot refurbishments. Earnings per share for the six months ended November 30 stood at $0.24.

Knutsford Express reported a 12.5% increase in total assets, reaching $2 billion as of November 30, 2024, up from $1.8 billion the previous year. This growth reflects ongoing investments in fleet expansion and operational upgrades. Equity rose to $1.35 billion, compared to $1.15 billion a year earlier, underscoring the company’s focus on sustaining long-term growth.

While the Drax Hall Business Centre rental income and café operations provided additional revenue streams, Knutsford Express remains focused on core service enhancements and positioning itself for a travel industry rebound.
