During Haitian Heritage Month, three-time Grammy Award-winning artist Wyclef Jean will be honored and welcomed to Little Haiti at the Chefs of the Caribbean Celebrity Brunch.

The event is being hosted by City of Miami Chairwoman Christine King, Miami Dade County Commissioner Keon Hardemon, and the Little Haiti Optimist Club. The culinary experience, which will be held on Saturday, May 20, will include the best cuisine from the Haiti and the islands, in celebration of Haitian Heritage Month. The venue will be the iconic Caribbean Marketplace located in the heart of Little Haiti.
Haitian Heritage Month recognizes the rich history and culture of Haitians through showcasing art, culture, food, music, and more. The month-long celebration pays tribute to the Haitian community for their valuable contributions to South Florida.
Chefs of the Caribbean will pay homage to Wyclef Jean for his philanthropic, business, and entertainment achievements.
“Wyclef Jean’s contribution to raising awareness of Haitian culture is unprecedented. His success in music, business and his charity work are to be celebrated, and we welcome him to Little Haiti” says Marie Louissaint, the producer of the event producer.
Chefs of the Caribbean Celebrity Brunch is a signature event during Haitian Heritage Month. It is an explosion of Caribbean-inspired dishes prepared by multiple celebrity chefs and restaurants , featuring delicious dishes, island desserts, specialty beverages and spirits.
At the event, dishes will be prepared : Chef Creole of Hait and the Bahamas; Chef the Rose of Haiti; Top Chef Ron Duprat of Haiti; Chef Irie of Jamaica; Chef Cat of Trinidad and Jamaica; Chef Danny Penalo of the Dominican Republic; Chef Rob of Haiti; Chef Michel France of Haiti;Chef Keith Reed of the Bahamas; and Chef Garfield of Jamaica.
As a bonus, guests will also enjoy an Art Beat Miami Haitian Heritage Month art exhibit featuring a variety of Caribbean artists, and performances by several musicians.
In addition, each guest in attendance will receive a Haitian Heritage Month commemorative poster entitled ‘Together for a Better Little Haiti.’
