Loop News- Grenada’s javelin champion Anderson Peters walked away with the third-place title in his season opener on Friday at the 2023 Wanda Diamond League in Doha.
Anderson’s best throw was a massive 85.88 metres, a Season’s Best.
The Ministry of Sport and Culture in Grenada issued congratulations to Anderson and urged fellow Grenadians to send him some love and appreciation.
Reigning Olympic Champion, India’s Neeraj Chopra won the javelin throw competition with a throw of 88.67m. Second place went to Yakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic who threw 88.63m.
Trinidad and Tobago’s former Olympic champion Keshorn Walcott finished in sixth place with a throw of 81.27m.
Anderson’s next competition will be on May 13 at the Kip Keno Classic World Continental Tour Gold Meet in Nairobi, Kenya.
