The family launched the GoFundMe to assist in covering the cost of funeral expenses. To date, the GoFundMe has received nearly $20,000 in donations, and is still open to anyone who would like to continue to support the family.

Alex and Andrews’s homegoing service was held on Saturday, April 22 in Miami.

According to police reports, a group of children was playing near the lake embankment when one of the twins fell in. His twin jumped in, attempting the rescue him, but both of them drowned.

Police and fire rescue responded and the brothers were pulled from the lake. They were taken to a hospital where they both died.

Andrew and Alex Paul had just turned 13 on March 1, according to Miami-Dade Police.
