The 22-year-old is a right-arm quick with 16 first class matches under his belt, after making his debut as an 18-year-old.

He took only a couple of wickets for Dolphins in the club’s eight-wicket win over Western Province last week.

Makhaya finished with 390 wickets from 101 Tests, to be third on the South Africa all-time list.

Batsman Corbin Bosch, who has featured for Barbados Royals in the Caribbean Premier League, has been named in the side along with Bryce Parsons, a 22-year-old right-hander who lashed an unbeaten hundred for Dolphins last week.

The game, scheduled for Willowmoore Park in Benoni, is the only warm-up game for West Indies before they face South Africa in a two-Test series starting February 28 at SuperSport Park in Centurion.
