Black women are often told to maintain and appreciate their African beauty, but Black men should do the same. While there are tips for Black women’s hair and skin care, there are also tips for males to enhance and care for one of their manly features- their beard!
Moisture is essential for having a nice beard. You will need to hydrate your skin and facial hair if you want to have a healthy, attractive beard. However, an effective routine is especially important in achieving this.
Here are some tips by the Hair Clippers Club on how to groom your black beard.
Use a Beard Shampoo: Try to use a beard shampoo that will moisturize and prevent your beard from becoming dry. A regular shampoo may contain several ingredients that dry out your skin and cause your beard to itch or develop dandruff.
Apply a Beard Oil: Beard oil is used to soften and moisturize your beard while helping to moisturize the skin beneath your beard.
Below are some ingredients that may be used to create your beard oil:
- Argan oil
- Coconut oil
- Jojoba oil
- Tea tree essential oil
- Cedarwood oil
- Rosemary oil
- Shea butter
Use a Beard Brush or Comb: It’s good to have a beard brush or beard comb. This makes it easier to distribute the oils to all facial hairs while exfoliating the skin and preventing ingrown hairs.
Apply a Beard balm: If you want to create a style and your beard has grown long you can use a beard balm. It will stick to your beard and will stay in place when you comb it.
If you struggle to maintain your beard or would love to start growing it, these tips are just for you. With these products, you can create your beard care kit and start grooming those facial hairs, resulting in healthy beard growth.
