The OAS said Ambassador Mendez arrived in St. George’s, Grenada, late Wednesday.

He will lead a team of six experts from Belize, Jamaica, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, and the United States.

On Thursday, the OAS said the Chief of Mission and the Supervisor of Elections in Grenada, Alex Phillip, will sign the Electoral Procedures Agreement, which establishes the framework for the work of the Mission in Grenada.

To analyze key aspects of electoral process

“The electoral experts will also immediately commence their interactions with stakeholders in-country,” the OAS said.

It said the Experts Mission will focus on “analyzing key aspects of the electoral process, including the electoral registry, electoral organization and technology, and campaign financing.”

The OAS said the team will also gather information about the status of the recommendations made by the OAS Mission to the 2013 elections.
