Jamaica will be one of eight nations set to compete at the inaugural Athletics World Cup which will take place in London, England in July.
The event will be held on July 14 and 15 and will include the United States, South Africa, Poland, France, China, Germany and Great Britain.
One male and one female athlete from each nation will compete in each track and field event. The two-day World Cup is expected to be held at the London Stadium. This was the same venue that hosted the 2017 IAAF World Athletics Championships.
This event is expected to be held every four years with the winning team taking home US $450,000 while the last place team will walk away with US $100,000.
