The 24-year-old Olympic 100m champion will aim to reclaim the 60 meters title she first captured in 2024, racing at the Kujawsko-Pomorska Arena from March 20 to 22.

Record-breaking form on display

Based in Texas, Alfred enters the championships in scintillating form. She has already recorded a season-best 6.99 seconds in the 60m, making her the joint second-fastest woman in history over the distance. Impressively, she has run under seven seconds six times this season, a feat unmatched by anyone aside from world record holder Irina Privalova.

Her dominance this year positions her as a top contender to reclaim her indoor crown and continue her remarkable trajectory on the international stage.

The SLAA hailed Alfred as a symbol of national pride and a beacon for young athletes.

“Alfred continues to be a source of immense national pride, having elevated Saint Lucia’s presence on the international athletics stage through her remarkable achievements and consistent world-class performances,” said SLAA president Dora Henry.

“The World Athletics Indoor Championships present another valuable opportunity for Saint Lucia to showcase its athletic talent on the global stage. Julien continues to serve as an inspiration to a new generation of young athletes at home, and her participation at this level reflects the continued growth and potential of athletics in our country. As an association, we remain committed to supporting our athletes and providing them with the opportunities and resources necessary to compete and excel at the international level.”

Event schedule for Caribbean fans

Alfred will take to the track on Saturday, March 21, with the opening rounds set for 6:05 a.m. (Caribbean time). The semi-finals and finals will follow later the same day at 3:14 p.m. and 4:20 p.m., respectively, giving fans a full day of sprinting action to watch their Olympic champion in action.

With her world-leading times and relentless consistency, Alfred is poised to make Saint Lucia proud once again. Her participation not only highlights her personal excellence but also underscores the growing impact of Caribbean athletics on the global indoor stage.
