At the request of the Grenada government, the United States Southern Command Caribbean Basin Security Initiative Technical Assistance Field Team (CBSI-TAFT) is in Grenada this week to help repair U.S.-supported maritime assets operated by the Royal Grenada Police Force Coast Guard.

The CBSI-TAFT team—made up of engineers and logisticians from the United States Coast Guard and the United States Army—is working closely with Grenadian counterparts during the technical assistance visit. Officials said the collaboration reflects Grenada’s strong commitment to operational readiness and regional security.

“Grenada is an excellent partner in the Caribbean, and the United States is grateful for the opportunity to work side by side to strengthen maritime security and counter-trafficking capabilities,” the United States Embassy, Grenada said in a statement.

The embassy added that the ongoing support under the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative contributes to a safer Caribbean and reinforces the longstanding partnership between the United States and Grenada.
