Jamaica’s air connectivity with the United Kingdom is set to expand next summer, with British Airways announcing the addition of a fourth weekly flight between London Gatwick (LGW) and Kingston (KIN) for the Summer 2026 season.
The new Saturday service, beginning April 4, 2026, will complement the airline’s existing Monday, Wednesday, and Friday rotations. Officials say the added frequency will provide more flexibility for travelers, including members of the Jamaican diaspora, while advancing the island’s tourism and economic growth.
Tourism Minister Hon. Edmund Bartlett welcomed the development, noting its wider significance beyond tourism. “Air connectivity is a critical pillar in nation-building. This fourth weekly service will not only strengthen our tourism sector, but also support trade, investment, cultural exchange, and the bonds between Jamaicans at home and abroad. Each new flight represents expanded opportunities for economic growth, job creation, and the continued development of Jamaica as a global brand,” he said.
Director of Tourism Donovan White also praised the announcement. “The UK remains one of our most important source markets, and this extra rotation gives travelers even more flexibility to discover our vibrant capital and the many attractions across the island. This growth aligns perfectly with our strategy to strengthen airlift and enhance accessibility to Jamaica,” he said.
Seats on the new service are now available for booking as the island prepares for an expected surge in summer travel demand.
