Teejay, Charly Black & ‘Drift’ creator Gabbidon booked for New Haven’s Leos vs Virgos day party

New Haven, CT — Last year, Teejay’s hit single “Drift” and its viral dance, created by Kingston’s own Gabbidon, racked up over 250 million TikTok views and had stars like Chris Brown, Cardi B, and Burna Boy joining the movement. Now, the powerhouse duo is bringing the song and dance energy to New Haven for the 4th annual Leos vs Virgo – Flavors of Lemonade Edition on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 1:00-8:00 PM at the scenic Canal Dock Boathouse.

“This isn’t just another summer day party — it’s a mixer with a climax,” promised Richi Porter of CLEAN-N-FRESH ENT, who, along with Bars on I95, is producing the event. “We’ve brought together world-class performers, Teejay, Charly Black, Gabbidon, along with Jamaican-American rapper Trap Queen Aisha Hall.”

Teejay, aka the “Up Top Boss,” crafted “Drift” in under an hour after seeing Gabbidon’s dance. His distinctive fusion of singing and DJing, inspired by Tupac, Bounty Killer, and Vybz Kartel, has earned him collaborations with Afrobeat star Davido and French Montana, as well as an EP titled I AM CHIPPY, executive-produced by Shaggy.

Joining Teejay is Charly Black, the international hitmaker behind the single “Gyal You a Party Animal”, a track with more than 100 million Spotify streams — which placed him in an elite company of Jamaicans with Bob Marley, Sean Paul, Omi, and Shaggy. Fans can expect his trademark high-energy performance and irresistible dancehall vibes.

Of course, no Drift party is complete without Gabbidon, whose high-octane moves will light up the floor. The city’s hottest DJs will keep the crowd moving with a blend of soca, reggae, and Afrobeat throughout the day.

Porter says the waterfront setting is as much a part of the magic as the music.

“It’s a stunning waterfront venue on the popular Long Wharf strip where the 4th of July fireworks are normally held. And for the first time, we’re introducing the ultimate summer drink to the Jamaican community here in New Haven.
