West Indies cricket returns to South Florida for T20I series against Pakistan

Cricket West Indies (CWI) has officially confirmed the return of international cricket to Florida with a three-match T20 International (T20I) series between the West Indies and Pakistan.

The series is set to take place at Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill on Thursday, July 31; Saturday, August 2; and Sunday, August 3, 2025. All matches will start at 8:00 p.m. local time.

The upcoming series marks a major milestone for the growth of cricket in the United States, as South Florida cements its place as a hub for the sport. Fresh off the success of Major League Cricket (MLC) in Lauderhill earlier this summer, the Broward venue will once again host top-tier cricket—this time featuring two of the game’s most passionate and competitive international sides in a full ICC-sanctioned series.

“Cricket West Indies (CWI) is proud to once again bring international cricket to Florida,” said CWI CEO Chris Dehring. “These matches are more than just a contest between two top international teams – they are part of our ongoing commitment to growing and globalizing the game, particularly in a region where the passion for cricket runs deep within a vibrant and proud Caribbean diaspora. We see it as our responsibility, as the only full ICC member nation in this hemisphere, to help shepherd the development of cricket in the United States, and bringing international cricket to Florida is certainly an ideal platform for the execution of that mission. We can’t wait to see the stands packed, especially by our West Indian family in the Diaspora, and the energy in full force.”

Matches in Lauderhill are known for their electric atmosphere—filled with the sound of drums, conch shells, and enthusiastic cheering. Caribbean and South Asian flags wave in the stands, and local food trucks serve regional favorites, making the cricket experience a vibrant celebration of culture and community.

“Lauderhill has proudly welcomed some of the biggest cricket teams and players in the world to our city,” said Lauderhill Mayor Denise Grant. “These games bring millions of eyes to our community and highlight the incredible diversity that makes Lauderhill special. We’re honored to host this international series and to continue playing a role in cricket’s expansion across the United States.”

Broward County Commissioner Hazelle Rogers also welcomed the return of international cricket: “This series is a win for our local economy, our multicultural communities, and our status as a destination for global sports and cultural events. Broward is proud to host world-class cricket, and we look forward to seeing fans fill the stadium later this month.”
