The informal series of conversations will address key issues such as neighborhood improvements, business support, community engagement, and access to essential services.

The Listening Tour brings together a diverse range of stakeholders, including clergy members, business owners, property owners, homeowners’ association (HOA) leaders, nonprofit organizations, and leaders from various demographic groups. Through these discussions, Mayor Grant seeks to ensure that all voices are heard and that Lauderhill continues to thrive as a vibrant and inclusive city.

Key focus areas of Listening Tour:

  • Neighborhood Improvements: Enhancing public safety, cleanliness, and infrastructure to improve residents’ quality of life.
  • Business Growth: Supporting local businesses through revitalization and sustainability initiatives.
  • Community Engagement: Encouraging participation from all community sectors to shape the city’s future.
  • Nonprofit Development: Strengthening purpose-driven organizations to address critical community needs.
  • Faith-Based Initiatives: Empowering local clergy to expand their impact within the city.
  • Financial Literacy: Providing educational resources to promote economic stability and mobility.
  • Food Equity: Implementing sustainable solutions to address food insecurity and ensure access to nutritious options.
  • Health and Wellness: Launching innovative programs, including “Stretch and Breathe” for stress reduction and targeted mental health initiatives for student-athletes and seniors.

The tour began in February with a gathering of nearly 20 Lauderhill clergy leaders. Throughout March, Mayor Grant will continue engaging residents and business leaders through scheduled meetings at various locations across the city:

  • March 6: HOA Members – Westwind Park (4550 NW 82 Ave.)
  • March 13: Lauderhill Businesses – Lauderhill City Hall (5581 W. Oakland Park Blvd.)
  • March 20: Residential Property Owners – Lauderhill CRA Headquarters (1803 NW 38 Ave.)
  • March 27: Nonprofit Community Partners – St. George Park (3501 NW 8 St.)

Each session begins at 6 p.m., with additional stops planned throughout the year. Mayor Grant encourages residents to attend, share their perspectives, and collaborate in shaping Lauderhill’s future.

“For our city to grow and prosper, we must listen, learn, and work together,” said Mayor Grant. “The Listening Tour is a chance for all of us to have meaningful discussions and take action on the issues that matter most to our residents.”

For more information about the Listening Tour, residents can contact the City of Lauderhill at 954-714-3115.
