This milestone highlights the program’s growing appeal to investors worldwide seeking second citizenship through financial contributions or real estate investments.

The Investment Migration Agency (IMA), formerly known as the Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU), approved 1,583 applications last year. This approval welcomed 5,443 new Grenadian citizens, including family members added to the process. Despite the high volume of approvals, the program maintained a rigorous vetting process, rejecting 93 applications, which reflects a 5.5% denial rate.

The record revenue was achieved as Grenada focused on resolving thousands of pending applications from previous years. After processing an all-time high of 1,676 files, the country successfully cleared its backlog, positioning itself to efficiently receive and process new submissions from investors keen to obtain Grenadian citizenship in 2025.

Investment pathways in Grenada

Applicants can secure Grenadian citizenship through two main options:

  1. Non-Refundable Donation (National Transformation Fund – NTF):
    • Individual applicants must contribute $150,000.
    • Families of up to four contribute $200,000, with an additional $25,000 required per dependent for larger families.
  2. Real Estate Investment:
    • Investments in government-approved properties start at $220,000. Properties must be held for at least five years to retain citizenship.

Investors showed a clear preference for the real estate avenue, which was the choice of 57% of applicants. The remaining 43% opted for the NTF pathway.

CBI program benefits

Grenadian citizenship offers a host of advantages, including:

  • Visa-free access to 144 countries, including the European Union and the UK.
  • Expedited processing, with citizenship granted in 4 to 8 months.
  • Tax benefits, with no levies on income, wealth, or inheritance.
  • Family inclusion, allowing dependents and extended family to be added.
  • E-2 visa treaty access with the U.S., enabling applicants to pursue non-immigrant visas.
  • Dual citizenship, allowing participants to retain their existing citizenships.

Grenada’s CBI program continues to be a significant driver of economic growth, solidifying its place as a leader in the global investment migration market. With its strategic adaptations, efficient processes, and robust benefits, the program is well-prepared to maintain its upward trajectory in the years ahead.
