Early voting in Miami-Dade County begins today

Miami-Dade County early voting for the November 5th General Election begins today and runs for 14 consecutive days, through Sunday, November 3rd. Voters may vote early at 33 convenient locations throughout Miami-Dade County from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The full list of early voting sites can be found on the Elections Department’s Early Voting page.

Voters are reminded not to wait until Election Day to cast their ballot. During early voting, registered voters can go to any of the 33 sites throughout the county.  However, they should avoid the traditionally high turnout sites. Driving a few miles farther to a lower turnout site can save you a significant amount of time.  Wait times for all 33 sites will be posted on the Elections Department’s Early Voting page and will be updated throughout the day, so voters can make an informed decision as to when and where is most convenient. Turnout increases daily. With every day that passes, longer lines are expected. The last day of Early Voting always has the longest wait times! Make your plan to vote early.

Additionally, voters can now view their customized sample ballot online and are encouraged to review it before heading to the polls.  The customized sample ballot is a sample of their specific ballot, which contains the races and questions that apply to them.  Voters should print it or take a picture of it so they can make their selections in advance.  This will speed up the process for them and everyone else in line!  So, know before you go!

Lastly, the law changed in 2023 requiring voters to renew their vote-by-mail request after every General Election. Just because they had a request on file for 2020 or 2022 does not mean that voters or their family members will automatically receive their ballot for the November 5, 2024 General Election. If they have not already done so, they must re-enroll! Do not wait, renew now at www.miamidade.gov/votebymail!
