Shai Hope and Romario Shepherd among West Indians set for 2025 ILT20 debuts

Several West Indian cricketers have been confirmed for the 2025 edition of the International League T20 (ILT20), with a handful of top players preparing to make their debut in the UAE-based competition.

Among the exciting newcomers are Shai Hope, Romario Shepherd, Terrance Hinds, Dominic Drakes, and Roston Chase, all of whom will be participating in the tournament for the first time.

Leading the signings, Shai Hope has joined forces with Dubai Capitals, alongside fellow West Indians Obed McCoy and Rovman Powell. Romario Shepherd will bolster the ranks of MI Emirates, where he will be part of an elite West Indian group that includes the likes of Kieron Pollard, Akeal Hosein, Andre Fletcher, Dwayne Bravo, and Nicholas Pooran.

In another exciting development

In another exciting development, Keemo Paul has been signed by Sharjah Warriors, where he joins Johnson Charles of St. Lucia. Meanwhile, Roston Chase is set to don the colors of Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, playing alongside West Indian stalwarts such as Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Gudakesh Motie, and Terrance Hinds.

Dominic Drakes will compete for the Gulf Giants, teaming up with Shimron Hetmyer, while Sherfane Rutherford will represent the Desert Vipers as one of their overseas players.

The third season of the ILT20 is slated to begin on Saturday, January 11, 2025, with a month-long schedule of 34 matches culminating in the grand final on Sunday, February 9, 2025. As anticipation builds, fans are eager to see how the West Indian talent will perform on the grand stage of this exciting T20 league.
