Shaw received the honor on Tuesday at the Manchester Opera House in Manchester, England, following a phenomenal season with Manchester City in the Women’s Super League (WSL).

Shaw’s outstanding performance throughout the 2023/24 season earned her the Golden Boot, as she netted 21 goals in 18 appearances for Manchester City. Her goal-scoring prowess helped propel the Citizens to a runner-up finish in the league, despite her absence in the final stretch of the campaign due to injury. Her performances were celebrated by fans, players, and coaches alike, solidifying her place among the elite strikers in England and across the globe.

Nothing short of historic

In addition to the PFA Women’s Player of the Year award, Khadijah Shaw also named in the PFA Team of the Year, making her the only player from the CONCACAF region to be included in the prestigious line-up. Her remarkable achievements have not gone unnoticed, as she is also a nominee for the 2023/24 CONCACAF Women’s Player of the Year award, a title she claimed in 2022.

Shaw’s contributions to Manchester City have been nothing short of historic, with the Jamaican star becoming the club’s all-time leading scorer in all competitions. Despite the setback of an injury at the end of the last season, the forward affectionately known as ‘Bunny’ is determined to return to the pitch and continue proving why she is one of the best strikers not only in England but also in CONCACAF and the world.

As Shaw works towards her recovery, her accolades serve as a testament to her exceptional talent, dedication, and impact on the game. She remains a beacon of inspiration for aspiring footballers in Jamaica, the Caribbean, and beyond.
