The City of Lauderdale Lakes is excited to announce the grand opening of the newly designed splash pad at Vincent Torres Memorial Park.
This eagerly awaited addition was made possible through $737,815 in funding approved by the Mayor and Commission, sourced from Park Impact Fees.
The splash pad, along with a new pavilion, restroom, and sidewalk in the park’s northwestern area, marks a significant enhancement aimed at revitalizing the space and fostering community cohesion. These improvements are set to provide enjoyment for residents of all ages and encourage children to engage in physical activities, promoting healthier lifestyles.
The City of Lauderdale Lakes is enthusiastic about the positive impact these new amenities will have on the neighborhood and anticipates the park becoming a vibrant hub of activity and social interaction.
This project is part of the broader enhancements outlined in the City’s Parks and Recreation Master Plan, which focuses on increasing access to play spaces for local children. The newly created, kid-designed playground will offer a safe and quality place for children to play, conveniently located near their homes and schools.
Residents are invited to join the grand opening celebration at Vincent Torres Memorial Park, located at 4331 N.W. 36th Street, on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. This event will mark the official debut of the splash pad and the other new facilities, welcoming the community to enjoy the enhanced park.
