Jamaica’s Prime Minister calls for increased productivity for economic growth

Jamaica’s prime minister Andrew Holness has reiterated the importance of enhancing productivity within the labor force to bolster the nation’s economic prosperity.

Prime Minister Holness highlighted a significant fiscal transformation undertaken by the government, showcasing a substantial increase in the wage bill over the years. 

With a detailed breakdown of the escalating figures, he underscored the unprecedented nature of these salary increments for public-sector workers.

This initiative seeks to cultivate and propel tech startups within Jamaica, aiming to nurture entrepreneurial ventures and spur economic growth. 

With a vision to support the establishment and expansion of 100 businesses within a 1,000-day timeframe, the Launchpad embodies a strategic investment in Jamaica’s innovation ecosystem.
