The decisive win saw FC Cincinnati triple their aggregate lead while maintaining a clean sheet, showcasing their prowess on the field.

The scoring opened early in the match as Alvas Powell netted his first-ever goal for FC Cincinnati by tapping in a pass from Bret Halsey. Powell, a former player in the Jamaica Premier League for Portmore United, marked his presence with a goal, becoming the 42nd all-time goal scorer for FCC.

Six goals across all competitions

Aaron Boupendza further bolstered FC Cincinnati’s attack, doubling the lead with a sensational left-footed shot from outside the box in the 34th minute, assisted by Dado Valenzuela. The goal added to Boupendza’s tally of six goals across all competitions for FCC.

The second half witnessed goals from Isaiah Foster and Valenzuela, both notching their maiden career goals for FC Cincinnati. Valenzuela’s strike in the 77th minute set a record as the youngest goal scorer in club history, surpassing Frankie Amaya’s milestone from July 2020.

Goalkeeper Roman Celentano played a pivotal role in securing the clean sheet, extending his streak of keeping opponents scoreless to 270 minutes across all competitions in 2024, marking the second instance in his career of achieving three consecutive clean sheets.

FC Cincinnati will return to MLS action this weekend as they face Chicago Fire FC on the road, marking their first away match of the season in league play.
