A female Jamaican schoolteacher working in South Carolina, United States, has been arrested and charged with child neglect by the Hernando County Sheriff’s Department.

According to records from the Hernando County Jail official website, 38-year-old Latisha Yonique Greenland faces two counts of child neglect.
However, specific details surrounding her arrest have not been disclosed.
It is believed that the charges against Greenland, a fifth-grade math and science teacher at Brooksville Elementary School, are not related to her students, but rather to her children.
Legal proceedings
Reports are that upon her appearance in court, Greenland was presented with a bail option of US$10,000. Despite this opportunity for release, she remains in custody.
As a stipulation of her bond, Greenland is prohibited from any contact with individuals under the age of 18, including her children.

Greenland is part of a J1 visa foreign exchange program with TPG Cultural Exchange out of Greenville, South Carolina.
