Roger Nyhus assumes role as US ambassador to Barbados

In a significant diplomatic development, Roger Nyhus, a seasoned Seattle business and civic leader, has officially assumed his role as the United States Ambassador to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean.

This appointment comes after a year-long process that began with his nomination and the submission of his Certificate of Demonstrated Competence under the Foreign Service Act, Section 304(a)(4).

Expanding diplomatic horizons

The ambassadorship includes Barbados, the Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, the Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Seattle Mayor extends congratulations

Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell extended his heartfelt congratulations to Roger Nyhus on this pivotal appointment. 

In a recent statement, Mayor Harrell highlighted Nyhus’s track record as a advisor to business, government, and nonprofit leaders in the city and the state.
