ICC and Google forge landmark alliance to supercharge women’s cricket

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled a historic global partnership with Google, signaling a bold leap forward for women’s cricket. Announced on Friday, the collaboration will see the sport’s governing body harness Google’s cutting-edge technology to enrich fan engagement, broaden accessibility, and spotlight women’s cricket on a truly global stage.

This milestone comes at a pivotal moment, with two marquee events—the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 in India and Sri Lanka and the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in England and Wales—set to captivate audiences within the next 10 months.

Building on momentum

The partnership follows closely on the heels of the ICC’s announcement of Unilever as its first global women’s partner earlier this year, underscoring a growing commitment to elevating the women’s game. Together, these alliances aim to fuel unprecedented growth and visibility for women’s cricket worldwide.

Fans can expect an enhanced and immersive experience powered by Google products, including Android, Google Gemini, Google Pay, and Google Pixel. This integrated ecosystem is designed to amplify every moment of the fan journey—whether it’s discovering match highlights, connecting with player stories, or celebrating memorable victories.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah described the collaboration as “a landmark moment for women’s cricket,” affirming the Council’s dedication to pushing the women’s game to “even greater heights.”

“By harnessing Google’s world-class innovation,” Shah said, “we will be able to create more engaging experiences for fans and bring the sport closer to people everywhere. Women’s cricket is growing faster than ever before, and this collaboration will not only help accelerate its global reach but also inspire future generations to see cricket as a game where they belong.”

A shared vision

Echoing Shah’s sentiments, Shekar Khosla, Vice President of Marketing at Google India, emphasized cricket’s role in uniting communities and igniting passion.

“Cricket has always been about community and shared passion,” Khosla noted. “We are proud to partner with the ICC to bring fans of women’s cricket closer to the game through our technology. This alliance is not just about a single tournament; it’s about building deeper engagement, making the sport more accessible, and enabling fans to feel a stronger connection with what they care about.”

With Google’s technological prowess and the ICC’s vision for the women’s game, the partnership aims to transform women’s cricket into a global sporting force—one that resonates powerfully across both established cricketing strongholds and emerging markets.
