Tamarac Elementary School is gearing up for a memorable 50th-anniversary celebration on November 15 and 16, 2024, marking half a century of academic achievement and community engagement.
The celebration will kick off on Friday, November 15, at 9:30 a.m. with a special anniversary program featuring a variety of performances. The school’s own Singing Tigers will take the stage, joined by the J.P. Taravella High School Band and JROTC. The event will also include presentations from Broward County School Board members, district administrators, and local elected officials from the City of Tamarac. A special proclamation from U.S. Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick will honor the school’s 50-year legacy.
The festivities will continue on Saturday, November 16, from 3 to 6 p.m., with a community event open to former students, teachers, staff, and residents. The afternoon will offer a chance to reconnect with the school’s history and celebrate its ongoing contributions to the Tamarac community. The event will be held on the school campus at 7601 N. University Dr., Tamarac, FL 33321.
“We are incredibly proud of our school’s rich history of academic excellence, community involvement, and dedication to student success,” said Principal Richard Garrick. “This milestone provides an opportunity to honor the past and look forward to the exciting future ahead.”
