Professional cricket is making a big play in South Florida. Broward County Parks will host a press conference on Tuesday, April 15, to announce that Cognizant Major League Cricket (MLC) is bringing matches to Broward County Stadium in July 2025.
The event will feature remarks from Major League Cricket CEO Johnny Grave, Broward County Commissioner Hazelle P. Rogers, and Lauderhill Mayor Denise D. Grant. Dan West, Director of Broward County Parks, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies.
The announcement marks a landmark partnership between MLC and the county, with speakers expected to highlight the projected economic impact, the upcoming match schedule, and cricket’s growing momentum in the United States as the sport gears up for inclusion in the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
The press conference is open to media outlets, which are invited to attend and learn more about the role Broward County will play in hosting high-profile cricket events next summer.
Broward County Stadium, located in Lauderhill, is the only dedicated cricket stadium in the United States certified by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and has previously hosted international matches and global tournaments.
