Two respected members of the 17th Judicial Circuit were recognized for their exemplary service at the Broward County Bar Association’s (BCBA) 2025 Annual Installation Dinner & Gala, held June 21 at the Ritz-Carlton in Fort Lauderdale. The event marked a milestone celebration—the BCBA’s 100th anniversary.
Circuit Court Judge Jeffrey R. Levenson received the prestigious Stephen R. Booher Award, honoring his humanity, integrity, and enduring commitment to the Bench, Bar, and community. Judge Levenson currently presides in the Circuit Civil Division.
Circuit Court Judge Kenneth Gillespie was awarded the Executive Director’s Award, a recognition of his outstanding commitment, loyalty, and service to both the legal profession and the community. He serves as the Administrative Judge of the Probate Division.
Chief Judge Carol-Lisa Phillips commended both honorees, stating:
“The 17th Judicial Circuit congratulates Judge Kenneth Gillespie on receiving the Executive Director’s Award and Judge Jeffrey R. Levenson on receiving the Stephen R. Booher Award from the Broward County Bar Association. Their dedication and contributions to the legal community are truly commendable.”
Both judges expressed heartfelt appreciation for the recognition.
“I share this recognition with the dedicated judges, attorneys, judicial assistants, deputies, and clerks who are the backbone of our courthouse,” said Judge Levenson. “The people of Broward County are fortunate to have the support of the BCBA, an organization deeply committed to justice, ethics, legal education, and public service.”
Judge Gillespie added, “I am both honored and humbled by this recognition. Personally, it reinforces a principle I’ve always instilled in my children: ‘Commit and follow through.’ Once you commit, it becomes your responsibility to follow through.”
The 17th Judicial Circuit extended congratulations to both judges, applauding their well-earned honors and continued dedication to public service.
