Highlights of the approved calendar include a week-long Thanksgiving break, a two-week winter break, and a one-week spring break. Key dates are as follows:

  • First Day of School: Monday, August 11, 2025
  • Thanksgiving Break: Monday, November 24 – Friday, November 28, 2025
  • Winter Break: Monday, December 22, 2025 – Friday, January 2, 2026
  • Spring Break: Monday, March 16 – Friday, March 20, 2026
  • Last Day of School: Wednesday, June 3, 2026

The calendar also outlines teacher planning days, early release days, report card distribution dates, and designated holidays. Provisions have been included for up to five severe weather makeup days if needed.

The school board had also recently supported extending days for middle school students by 10 minutes next year to accommodate a new holiday recognizing Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights.

“We are excited to share the 2025/26 school calendar with our families and community,” said BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn.

“We appreciated the valuable feedback from our educators, families, students, and community for creating a schedule that supports optimal learning and well-being. Our goal is to provide a high-quality education in a supportive and inclusive environment, and this calendar will help us achieve that goal.”
