Later in the innings, Pakistan’s Imad Wasim added a handy 19 runs from 14 balls. However, it was Roston Chase’s spin that turned heads, as he scalped three wickets giving away 39 runs.
Not one to be left behind, Chase also anchored the King’s response with the bat. His fiery 53 off 31 balls, consisting of four fours and three sixes, kept the hope alive for the home team.
Yet, his dismissal at the hands of debutant Salman Irshad during the first ball of the climactic final over was a decisive moment, leaving the Kings short of their target at 176.
Roshon Primus’s late efforts of a rapid 37 off 20 balls were not enough.
The bowling side had Imad Wasim shining as he secured three wickets for a mere 27 runs. Both Irshad and spinner Chris Green made their presence felt by taking two wickets apiece.
